- ➤ Members of the Native Village of Eklutna unveiled a new Indigenous sign at Glen Alps Trailhead on Flattop Mountain on Wednesday night, renaming Tanaina Peak to Qin Chegi (ridge where we cry) to honor Dena’ina heritage. - ➤ Governor Mike Dunleavy vetoed House Bill 174 that would have expanded funds for Mt. Edgecumbe High School and rural teacher housing by removing the $70 million cap on repair and maintenance grants—a change that would shift scarce state dollars to local housing costs.
