Her team’s early reports influenced decisions to close schools twice this week—ensuring nearly 22,000 children remained safe while traveling.

Freezing rain and wintry mix are affecting Southcentral Alaska today as cold air pushes in from the north and winter advisories remain in effect; regions should brace for additional light snowfall on Friday and into next week.
