- ➤ After Typhoon Halong caused major damage in Western Alaska, state and federal agencies along with community groups provided more than $41 million in relief support. More than 2,000 people were evacuated and hundreds received hotel sheltering, meal deliveries, and aid registrations with deadlines on Dec 22 and Jan 8—ensuring affected residents get critical help.
