- ➤ On November 11, a small crowd braved single-digit temperatures at Merrill Field’s World War II memorial—organized by the Municipality—to honor veterans, reflecting on the sacrifices made for the country. Alaska's News Source
- ➤ Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska announced that they will permanently close several rural and Fairbanks sites and focus on services in Anchorage, Eagle River, and the Mat-Su Valley — the organization will phase in select after-school and athletics programs using local donations to support children and families. - ➤ Harvest Midstream—an affiliate of Hilcorp—has acquired the Kenai LNG facility in Nikiski and plans to import LNG starting in the first half of 2028 after a final investment decision in Q2 to address local natural gas shortages. Anchorage Daily News
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ New economic data from the state Department of Labor showed Alaska had the highest percentage of veterans nationwide—about 59,000 veterans, or 8% of the population, compared to 5% nationally. Veterans are mostly concentrated in Anchorage, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and Fairbanks. Alaska Public Media

- ➤ State officials said that Alaska veterans left millions in earned benefits unclaimed because only half of those eligible received their compensation. A small group honored veterans Tuesday morning at Merrill Field with a ceremony in front of a World War II memorial. Alaska's News Source
- ➤ After ex-Typhoon Halong left villages with law enforcement shortages, the Association of Village Council Presidents recommended a new regional hub+ and more Village Public Safety Officers to better prepare for future storms.
