- ➤ Anchorage Rabbi Yosef Greenburg from the Lubavitch Jewish Center said that every Jewish person is happy that the remaining hostages were released following the Hamas attacks on Oct. 7, 2023. He noted that while the community celebrated the festive holiday that began Monday night — they remain cautious and hope for a new era of peace that curbs extremism in the Middle East. - ➤ Alaska Pacific University hosted Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebration at Moseley Sports Center in Anchorage—Alaska Natives performed songs, served traditional foods and ran vendor booths to honor native contributions statewide.
