- ➤ Today at Chilkoot Charlie's parking lot, the Support Dollars for Dogs fundraiser will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to raise money for a local nonprofit and for the Anchorage Police Department's K-9 Unit, with free hot dogs and doggie bags and cooling vests available for dogs. Alaska's News Source

- ➤ The National Transportation Safety Board released its preliminary report on the fatal Dillingham plane crash that killed wildlife biologist John Landsiedel on July 25th, 2025 when his Piper J3C-65 Cub lost power during a touch-and-go landing—resulting in a stall and a crash on the airport runway. - ➤ The FAA said it will reopen bidding on a contract to build a new air traffic control tower at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport — earlier bids were too high. - ➤ Jane Angvik, one of the architects of Anchorage’s charter, said unification 50 years ago not only set rules for land use and taxes but also helped the community respond better to disasters—she explained that working together led to a government capable of serving a growing population, and the charter will be celebrated next month.
