CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Alaska State Troopers fatally shot a man who barricaded himself in a motorhome bathroom in Wasilla on Friday at about 1 p.m. after he refused to exit while holding a handgun plus a trooper has been placed on administrative leave while an investigation into the use of lethal force continues. - ➤ Alaska State Troopers said 31-year-old Lashaunda Lewis from Virginia was charged with domestic violence murder for killing 78-year-old John Dove Jr. at his Soldotna home on August 5th—she later inflicted her own injuries, and officials said there is no ongoing public safety threat. - ➤ Anchorage students in grades one through twelve will return to classrooms next week as the district urgently hires more teachers. Superintendent Dr. Jharrett Bryantt is excited about the upcoming school year — efforts are in place to start strong. Alaska's News Source
- ➤ Anchorage is preparing for the new school year with a Back-to-School Health and Safety Fair at Fairview Recreation Center, where families received free supplies and health services earlier this week.
