  • A Cessna 180J crash-landed near Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park on July 5, injuring all four onboard—witnesses reported that the engine briefly powered up before falling silent amid gusty southeasterly winds.  Anchorage Daily News

  • The FBI Field Office in Anchorage today is offering up to $10,000 for tips on Esthepen Delossantos Pebenito—also known as Pepe—an alleged meth dealer wanted for a 2019 distribution case after a warrant was issued on July 22, 2021.  Must Read Alaska

  • Anchorage police chief Sean Case said the department is partnering with other organizations to develop strategies that lower traffic-related fatalities following a rise in numbers seen in 2024—officials will introduce new safety measures soon.  Alaska's News Source
  • Attorney General Treg Taylor held a private event in a Wasilla hangar Monday night where he discussed oil and gas and Alaska’s economic future. HEALTH NEWS

  • U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. visited Anchorage on Tuesday, August 5 to defend his decision to withdraw $500 million from mRNA vaccine research and to stress that improved safety testing is needed for vaccines. Local officials, protesters, and senators questioned the changes to the advisory board while he promised redirected funds will support a universal vaccine program and a $50 billion rural health fund—steps aimed at enhancing Alaska's health care.  Anchorage Daily News
