- ➤ Anchorage police are seeking a driver who fled a fatal hit-and-run crash on Sunday night near Arlington Drive and West Northern Lights Boulevard — the collision between a motorcycle and a white GMC pickup resulted in the death of rider Christian Islas-Stauffer — anyone with information is urged to come forward. - ➤ A report from Ocean Conservancy released July 23 showed Alaska’s ocean trash is mostly broken fishing nets, lines, ropes and buoys—items swept in by ocean currents. - ➤ Former state Rep. David Eastman won his lawsuit against Gov. Mike Dunleavy and the state when a judge ruled Senate Bill 189 void for violating the single-subject clause—he was awarded $20,250 in fees and costs.
