ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake shook 50 miles south of Sand Point—no tsunami warnings were issued following this aftershock from the M7.3 quake on Wednesday. Alaska's News Source
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Anchorage police responded at about 2:50 a.m. Sunday to a downtown shooting on the 700 block of 4th Avenue where multiple victims were reported and no suspect is in custody—officers blocked the street between G and H. Alaska's News Source
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Anchorage officials reported that 146 residential units were permitted in the first six months compared to 79 last year after new municipal tax breaks and a pause on design rules were introduced to boost multifamily housing. Developer Shaun Debenham plans the $19 million Raspberry Townhomes project in Sand Lake, which will be available for rent in 2027—part of the city's broader effort to address rising rents and housing shortages.
