  • The annual Girdwood Forest Fair celebrated its 50th anniversary during the July 4 weekend when vendors, four live music stages, and family events like a parade drew a large crowd in the forest setting.   • Alaska lawmakers changed how the state gets money from oil on federal lands—raising its share from 50-50 to 70-30 after efforts led by Rep. Nick Begich. The new rule will start in 2034—generating tens of billions in future revenue for Alaska.  Must Read Alaska
  • Sen. Dan Sullivan supported the One Big Beautiful Bill Act because it boosts energy leasing, tax breaks, and funding for the Coast Guard and health care in Alaska.
