- ➤ Operation Colony Glacier continued its recovery work on June 12 as military teams worked to recover remains and personal effects from the 1952 U.S. Air Force C-124 Globemaster II crash on Mount Gannett. By today, 49 of the 52 victims have been identified — teams from Alaskan Command, the National Guard, Army, and Air Force keep up their summer efforts to prevent debris from moving downstream. - ➤ The updated 940‐page bill was released on Friday and will be debated in the Senate soon — it has Alaska changes like a tax break for fishers, more Medicaid support, and proposed cuts to Medicaid and food aid that could cost 3,000 jobs. Local health experts and advocates in Anchorage warned the cuts will hurt care and the economy while senators Murkowski and Sullivan weigh options — and Governor Dunleavy pointed to future benefits from oil and gas rules.
