  • Anchorage is hosting the 33rd Alaska Run for Women today at UAA where runners, survivors, and supporters gather to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer — organizers say the event unites the community in its ongoing fight until a cure is found.   • Anchorage welcomed the new Summer Night Market at Town Square Park on Friday from 5 to 8:30 p.m., where vendors, food trucks, live music and a beer garden created a fresh downtown experience.   • An Anchorage nurse practitioner was found guilty today of misconduct involving controlled substances in the second and third degree for oxycodone, fentanyl and meperidine—she had previously faced manslaughter charges linked to a woman's death and will be sentenced in October.  Alaska's News Source

  • 3 Barons Renaissance Fair kicks off today at Russian Jack Park with pirate-themed events, safe ax-throwing for kids, a tomato toss and 97 vendors as it returns for its second year with improved accessibility.
