- ➤ Cornelius Smith—an Eagle River man—was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release and 120 hours of community service after trafficking 28 firearms from Alaska to Sacramento where many guns were linked to gang activity. Your Alaska Link
- ➤ A 24-year-old man charged with first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder linked to the 2021 death of 18-year-old Katelynn Shelhamer appeared in court Thursday at Nesbett Courthouse—after twice refusing transport from jail, his bail was set at $500,000. Alaska's News Source
