- ➤ Barrick Gold has sold its 50% stake in the Donlin Gold project — Paulson Advisers is paying $800 million for 40% while Novagold Resources acquires 10% for $200 million. - ➤ Nurse practitioner Kris Kile will face trial beginning Wednesday as he is charged with misconduct involving controlled substances oxycodone, fentanyl, and meperidine. - ➤ Eight attorneys have applied for the Anchorage District Court vacancy following Judge Pamela Washington’s planned retirement, and the Alaska Judicial Council will review the candidates using background checks, surveys and interviews. - ➤ The Alaska Legislature approved a compromise education bill on Monday, April 28 that boosts per-student funding by $700—the largest increase in state history—and the Senate added policy amendments to appeal to Gov.
