- ➤ Anchorage-based directors Bradford Jackson and Steven Cornfield traveled to Los Angeles on April 7th for the 25th Annual Beverly Hills Film Festival—where their Alaskan-made films were screened along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Alaska's News Source

- ➤ Lawmakers held the first hearing on a house bill to teach Alaska high school students about money on Friday — some representatives supported it while others did not. The bill is designed to help students prepare for financial success when they grow up. Alaska's News Source
- ➤ The Anchorage School District and Anchorage Public Library hosted bestselling author Max Brallier at West High on April 7 and will host him at Chugiak High today and at Service High on April 9. - ➤ Starting May 7, all U.S. air travelers aged 18 and older will be required to show a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or an acceptable alternative—like a passport—to board domestic flights and access federal facilities. - ➤ USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins sent a memo that may boost timber production in the Chugach and Tongass National Forests by speeding up actions like dangerous tree removal—an effort meant to lower wildfire risk and support local jobs—and it follows calls from Gov.
