EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ten West High positions will be cut under the Anchorage School District's 2025-26 budget and the student-teacher ratio will rise from 32:1 to 36:1—this plan puts the Theatre Club at risk by removing Drama advisor Brian Lyke—and Senate bill HB 69 will boost per-student funding by $1,000 to potentially save these positions as the 'Hadestown' show is set to perform on April 12 at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts.  Anchorage Daily News
