- ➤ A 21-year-old Sutton man is charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree arson, misconduct involving a weapon and tampering with physical evidence after police found his 56-year-old father fatally shot during a welfare check and tracked him to a burning cabin near Mile 164 on Glenn Highway — authorities said. - ➤ Alaskans must file their 2025 Permanent Fund dividend applications by Monday, March 31 at 11:59 p.m., with online submissions accepted until closing time and mailed applications needing a timely postmark. Residents can also visit the downtown PFD office on Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.—by Friday, more than 564,000 had applied. Anchorage Daily News

- ➤ DMV officials urge Alaskans to obtain a REAL ID by May 7 for air travel and entry to military bases — the agency has issued over 350,000 IDs since 2019 and will use mobile units to serve remote areas. Alaska Public Media
- ➤ On Friday, the legislature passed Senate Bill 43 by a vote of 33—2 to make March Women’s History Month and honor the work of Alaskan women in politics, business, and culture. The bill now awaits Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s signature, marking the first time state law formally recognizes this month. Alaska's News Source
- ➤ The Alaska Board of Game approved a petition that lets the Department of Fish and Game resume emergency predator control to help protect the dwindling Mulchatna Caribou Herd. Officials said the program will start in late spring and early summer—teams will be in the field within 30 days. Alaska Public Media
- ➤ The Alaska Gasline Development Corp. board approved an agreement on Mar. 27 in Tokyo that lets Houston- and New York-based Glenfarne Group lead the final investment decision for the $44 billion Alaska LNG Project. Under the deal, Glenfarne will update cost estimates at a cost of about $150 million — a key step toward prioritizing the pipeline to bring gas to local customers before later phases. KTOO
