  • An analysis of Alaska’s public education system shows that fixed school board elections, mandatory PERA labor rules, and strict APOC finances limit parent-driven changes in schools — keeping reform out of reach for many voters.   • Norwegian mushing veteran Thomas Waerner, the 2020 Iditarod champion, completed vet checks in Wasilla on March 2 and is racing in the new Expedition Class with billionaire Kjell Inge Røkke (whose funds help support the event).
