- ➤ Fur Rondy kicked off this week in downtown Anchorage with community members joining the Frostbite Foot Race, enjoying a lively parade and quick sled dog championships amid chilly weather. Your Alaska Link
- ➤ A new book, In Light and Shadow: A Photographic History from Indigenous America, reviews rare photographs and essays that trace Indigenous photographers' work from the 1860s to today. Anchorage-based photographer Brian Adams co-authored the book and adds his firsthand perspective on Alaska Native life. Anchorage Daily News

- ➤ The 14 inductees for the High School Hall of Fame Class of 2026 include father-and-son Gary and Jackson Lehnhart who led Juneau-Douglas High’s soccer team to seven championships. The ceremony will be at 2 p.m. April 26 at the Special Olympics Alaska Jim Balamaci Training Center in Anchorage. Anchorage Daily News
- ➤ On Feb. 28, Alaska lawmakers discussed education challenges amid school closures and deplorable conditions in state schools. They determined that more actions will be considered to improve learning environments as local officials work on solutions. Alaska's News Source

- ➤ Alaska Natural Burial, led by Rachel Bernhardt, is proposing to turn a 10-acre parcel in Rabbit Creek (owned by the Heritage Land Bank) into a natural burial cemetery with over 2,000 graves as traditional cemetery space runs scarce; the plan awaits review after a vote by the advisory commission. - ➤ The Anchorage Wolverines rallied from a 4–1 deficit in Friday’s game at Sullivan Arena, scoring five unanswered goals in the third period for a 6–4 win.
