- ➤ A 29-year-old Anchorage man contracted seal finger linked to a brown bear during a hunt on the Alaska Peninsula in September 2024 and underwent treatment including antibiotics and surgery (using doxycycline) that led to his recovery last January, marking the first documented instance from a bear.
