  • Officials changed the Yukon Quest Alaska 750 course to bypass Tanana amid rough trail conditions, and defending champion Jeff Deeter scratched after marker shortages and illness, letting frontrunner Josi Shelley pull ahead as the race continues while Fairbanks musher Jonah Bacon holds second place.  Alaska Public Media
  • Yesterday, the U.S. hockey team rallied to defeat Denmark 6–3 at the Olympics in Milan, with key goals from Jack Eichel and Brady Tkachuk and support from Noah Hanifin, even after Anchorage native Jeremy Swayman allowed an early long-range shot.  Anchorage Daily News
